Resource Guider~ An Adult Member with Specialized Skills to Offer ~ may also hold other positions within Girl Guides

Do you have specialized skills? Enjoy working with girls? Prefer a flexible Guiding commitment? Then becoming a Resource Guider is for you! Whatever you are interested in – whatever your location – whatever your imagination allows – we need your creativity!

Maybe, you love to knit and are willing to attend Guide meetings to instruct
           the girls.
Perhaps there is a nature or historical site you would like to introduce the
girls to it  through an evening walk or Saturday visit.
The provincial and national challenges would also make great programs
            to offer.

In most cases, a Resource Guider would go to the Unit but in others the Unit might meet you at a venue. You set the parameters.

How do I become a Resource Guider?
1. Decide on the type of activity (activities) you would like to offer. Consider the core program, suitable enrichment activities, your skills, time commitment you are willing to make.
2. Complete the Resource Activity Submission and submit either by mail, email or fax. You will also find the Resource Activity Report (to manage any costs) and a Resource Activity Record form for you to keep track of the sessions offered.
3. When received, your activity will be posted on a Resource listing on the Ontario website for Guiders to check. To access your contact information, the Guider will go to the Ontario section of Member Zone where your email address and/or phone number will be available. Unit Administrators would provide this information to Guiders not having internet access.
4. When a Guider is interested in your activity, she will contact you directly and make arrangements regarding time, location, numbers etc.
