Planning a Larger Girl Event
An event with 100 or more girls attending OR the total
revenue will exceed $2000 OR it is a fundraising event.
Step One – THINK about
Planning Your Event and Budgeting
Ask yourself the following Questions:
•
How many Units is it for?
•
What is the overall budget? – Event budgets must
be approved by the Event Coordinator and are
to be self-supporting.
•
What branch(es) is the event most suitable for?
•
Can girls from other Communities attend or is this only
for Girls in a Community(ies)?
•
Where and when will it be?
•
How long will the event be?
•
What type of event will it be?
•
Will this be a green, yellow or red Safe Guide event?
•
How much will each girl and Guider have to pay (if anything)?
•
Is my event eligible for event subsidy? Click here to find
out about financial
assistance.
•
What is the best name to describe and market my event (eye-catching!)?
•
Is the purpose of the event a fundraiser? If so, fill out FR.1
Application for Fundraising Approval
NOTE: In Ontario the FR. 1 is submitted to executive.coord@guidesontario.org
NOT your ACL
•
Will there be a crest? If so, crest approval needs to be
sought http://www.guidesontario.org/forms/crest%20approval%20application.pdf

Step Four – Event REGISTRATION/COMMUNICATION
for your Event/Activity:
All Larger Girl Events must have online registration and
be posted on the Online Event Calendar.
The online calendar will permit a brief description for
your event. Individually developed flyers will not be posted.
Your event will be posted once a budget has been received
and you have followed the steps in the Girl Event Template.
