Summer Camp Challenge 2009

Girls who are interested in receiving their Summer Camps Challenge patch will do three things:

1) Attend an OCA Girl Guides of Canada, Ontario Council Camp
2) Participate in the camp programs and track what they did
3) Tell their Unit about their time at camp.

Unit Guider: please ensure that there is time for girls to talk about camp during Unit time so they can finish this challenge.

Badges will be available in mid-November for this challenge.

The challenge will be open until March 1, 2010.

Unit Guiders let us know at summercamps.registrar@guidesontario.org when this presentation has been completed so we can forward the camper her patch!

Some GGC camps in Ontario worked together to provide joint marketing, registration and staffing of our programs for the summer of 2009. The camps involved in this partnership for summer camp programming in 2009 were Adelaide, Bryerswood, Doe Lake, Keewaydin, Kiawa, Kienuka, Waupoos, Woolsey, & Wyoka.

These camps are managed under the collective title of the “Summer Camps Program”. All of these camps hold accreditation status with the Ontario Camps Association and provide composite camp opportunities to girls. Each girl at these camps was provided with a passport and it is the only record of the work that she participated in at camp (i.e., we don’t retain a copy of this).

Congratulations Emily Jones for submitting the winning design! Emily attended three camps this summer; Adelaide, Bryerswood and Kiawa!
