In our digital and tech-driven world, it is increasingly critical for girls to develop cybersecurity skills, learn about cyber threats and how to protect their information and devices.

Digital Defenders Crest

BlackBerry and Girl Guides of Canada (GGC) have partnered to educate girls, 5-17, about cybersecurity through GGC’s Digital Defenders program. Girls will take a discovery-based learning approach to explore questions like:

  • How does a computer work?
  • How does data travel?
  • What is a virus or cyber attack?
  • How can I protect my data?
  • What is malware and encryption?
  • What careers are there in cybersecurity?

The Digital Defenders program is designed to support girls in developing the tools and knowledge they need to ensure they are secure and empowered digital citizens. It also sparks girls’ curiosity in different cybersecurity career paths as girls explore their own personal talents and interests in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Check out Digital Defenders on the Girl Guide program platform.
